Carson & Sons daybook, 1854-1855.

Daybook kept by Carson & Sons lists merchandise and sundries charged to various customers, as well as sales of bales of cotton credited to their accounts. Merchandise and sundries include sugar, salt, flour, fruit, coffee, tea, whiskey, butter, lard, lime, soap, candles, twine, rope, nails, cloth, harnesses, bedsteads, and various other goods. Other charges include freight and drayage. Sales of cotton contain charges for drayage and storage, and commission fees. Entries contain the names of individuals, the number of bales sold, and the price received. Accounts are with various individuals and companies including John Fraser & Company, Walker & Wagner, Rogers & Spencer, John M. Allen, L.H. Belser, W.H. Burgess, Alex. Campbell, P.M. Inabnet, C.W. Lesesne, F.M. Mellet, F.J. Moses, T.M. O'Neal, William Sanders, W.T. Spann, and William Staggers.
